seeing the light

Examples of photographs I made where the light was the inspiration…

film 125 ASA, f8

A simple seaside micro scene in bright daylight, the light brought out the textures.

I love long shadow and here the rounded leaf shadow contrasts with the hard straight edges of the fence. The fence is also given a 3 dimensional feel by the light direction.

The light at the end of this tunnel pours through toward me and adds depth and a little mystery.

The wonderful curves of this building at Kew Gardens are drawn out by the contrast developed by the morning sunlight against the dark glass.

A back lit flower, the colour is boosted by the light and works nicely with the dark greens.

A back lit fern in the dark forest, always wonderful.

Morning shadow creates these pleasing lines along the path.

This is again about the shadows produced by the strong sunlight. Mirrored patterns can be found when shooting from a well thought out angle.

Morning haze, from my front clips the sculpted bushes, lovely, like birthday jellies. Note the curve of the path complimenting the curved bushes.
